ROBERTA LEE SCHENK
Roberta “Bobbie” Lee Snider Schenk was born November 7, 1935, in Terry, Montana, the second oldest of four girls to Chauncey and Shirley Blackburn Snider. Bobbie attended Fairfield High School, where she was lead drum majorette.
Bobbie married her high school sweetheart, Lyman George Schenk on June 2, 1954. They moved to Bellingham, WA in 1961 to raise their six children: Kevin, Theresa, Keith, Scott, Rodney and Laura. She worked hard, both on the family farm and in the home, where she led and taught by example.
Bobbie’s greatest love was her family, which includes 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and gardening, and was known to have a particular love of sitting outside in the sun (especially in Hawaii!). Always busy, she kept her mind engaged with genealogy work and life-long service to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Surrounded by family, Bobbie died in her Bellingham home at the age of 85. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, located at 2925 James St. in Bellingham, WA. Burial will be at Greenacres Memorial Park, next to her husband, George, and deceased eldest son, Kevin. In lieu of flowers, please consider a legacy gift to Whatcom Hospice.
